The Regional District of Bulkley Nechako upgraded the Knockholt Landfill to a regional landfill in 1998. Sperling Hansen Associates provided detailed design, continuous QA/QC inspection and project management services.

 Upgrade included:

• a 20,000 m³ HDPE lined leachate lagoon,

• a 200 m leachate collector toe berm,

• a four bay transfer station,

• 1.5 km of access road, and

• upgrading and construction of a 1.5 ha expansion cell.
