Closure involved:

• Capping of 2.5 ha footprint in 1995 and of 13.5 ha in 1996 and 1997.

• Installation of 40 mil PVC membrane on 300 mm compacted clay.

• Unit cost of closure was $30/m².

• Construction on 3H:1V side slopes.

• Utilization of local peat as 300 mm thick top soil layer.

• Determination of the best final cover system with test pad trial.
